HBO has conjured up the first official image of child actor Dominic McLaughlin in costume as the new Harry Potter from the upcoming reboot of the wildly popular wizarding franchise.
The photo was released as part of an announcement that the hotly anticipated HBO Original series has begun production in the UK and is scheduled to premiere in 2007.
The new series will be a fresh adaptation of the Harry Potter books written by J.K. Rowling, who is executive producing, and stand separate from the blockbuster films starring Daniel Radcliffe as the boy wizard.

Alongside McLaughlin as the titular hero, the series has cast fresh faces Arabella Stanton as Hermione Granger and Alastair Stout as Ron Weasley.
“The talent of these three unique actors is wonderful to behold, and we cannot wait for the world to witness their magic together onscreen,” showrunner Francesca Gardiner and director Mark Mylod said in a statement in May.
The Hogwarts staff includes John Lithgow as Professor Dumbledore, Janet McTeer as Professor McGonagall and Nick Frost as Hagrid.
