A driver is fighting for life after colliding with a truck on a freeway in the early hours of Friday morning.
It’s believed a car was travelling in the wrong direction in the citybound lanes of the CityLink in Burnley, Melbourne about 2.10am when it crashed into a truck.
A large emergency services operation commenced, with fire crews attempting to extricate the driver who was trapped inside the car.

The driver of the car was rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The truck driver was not injured.
Two right lanes are closed inbound just after Yarra Blvd and drivers have been told to allow for extra travel time.
“The investigation into the circumstances surrounding the collision remains ongoing,” police said.
