Images of Donald Trump and convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein have been beamed onto Windsor Castle just as the US President landed in the UK for his historic state visit.

Activist group, Led by Donkeys, orchestrated the stunt on Tuesday evening (local time), projecting several photos and videos of Mr Trump and Epstein onto one of the castle’s towers.

The footage included Mr Trump’s mugshot from when he was indicted in 2023 on charges of plotting to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election.

Portraits of Epstein, the alleged birthday letter from Mr Trump to Epstein featuring a drawing of a curvaceous woman, plus a video of the pair dancing, were also displayed.

At one point, Prince Andrew’s image also appeared on the tower of the royal residence, in what could be noted as a pointed reference to the controversial ties between the men.

The group shared an image of the stunt on Instagram with the caption: “Hey Donald, welcome to Windsor Castle”.

The montage was projected just hours before the US President is set to be officially welcomed by King Charles at Windsor Castle for a day of pomp in a regal show of soft power.

While Mr Trump and his wife, Melania, are staying overnight at Winfield House, they will be treated to a ceremonial welcome and a lavish state banquet on Wednesday at the castle.

Ahead of landing in the UK, Mr Trump described his relationship with the UK as “very good”.

“And Charles, as you know, who’s now King, is my friend,” he added.

“It’s the first time this has ever happened where somebody was honoured twice. So, it’s a great honour.”

Four members of the activist group have since been arrested on suspicion of malicious communication, The Independent reports.

“We take any unauthorised activity around Windsor Castle extremely seriously,” Chief Superintendent Felicity Parker said.

“Our officers responded swiftly to stop the projection and four people have been arrested.

“We are conducting a thorough investigation with our partners into the circumstances surrounding this incident and will provide further updates when we are in a position to do so.”
