A night of fun turned frightening at after a fireworks display went horribly wrong, with multiple explosions firing at ground level and into the crowd.
One firework reportedly detonated just 10 metres from a group of families at the Jimboomba Family Carnival, Queensland, while another shot into the grandstand, exploding among spectators. Jimboomba is about a one-hour drive south of Brisbane.

Witnesses said children were crying and people were running for safety, but despite the danger, organisers continued the display.
In a statement, event organisers said they are aware of the issue and are working with first aid personnel, the pyrotechnics operator, and relevant authorities to investigate the incident.
“We have cancelled tonight’s display to allow this investigation to take place and ensure everyone’s continued safety & enjoyment of the carnival,” the statement said.
While no official injuries have been officially confirmed, social media reports suggest some attendees may have been affected during the display.
