The body of a woman has been found in a river in Victoria.

The discovery was made by members of the public in the Yarra River at Warburton, 76km east of Melbourne’s CBD, at about 11am on Monday.

She has not yet been formally identified.

“Investigations are ongoing into the circumstances of the death,” police said.
