Bike rider dies after colliding with car in Coonamble

The 20-year-old suffered head and arm injuries in the collision.

A young bike rider has died in NSW after sustaining serious injuries in a collision with a car.

Emergency services were called to the intersection of Hickey and Limerick St, Coonamble, following reports of a crash involving a trail bike and Toyota SUV about 5:50pm on Saturday.

Police attended the scene of the collision.

The bike rider, a 20-year-old man, was treated by paramedics for serious head and arm injuries before being taken to Coonamble Hospital in a serious condition.

He died later in the hospital.

The Toyota driver, a 25-year-old woman, was uninjured and taken to the same hospital for mandatory testing.

Both vehicles have been seized for forensic examination.

A crime scene was established, and police have commenced an investigation into the incident.
