A 13-year-old teenager has been charged with reckless wounding, break and enter to commit a serious indictable offence, wearing a disguise with intent, and breaching bail.

A teenager is set to face court after a man was allegedly stabbed during a break-in at a motel.

Emergency services were called to a property on Alice St in Moree, northern NSW., just before 1am on Sunday following reports of a stabbing.

Police said a group of five people allegedly forced their way into a room before being confronted by a 52-year-old man.

An altercation broke out, during which the man was allegedly stabbed in the torso and arm.

Four people fled the scene, while the injured man was treated by paramedics and taken to hospital in a stable condition.

A 13-year-old boy was arrested at the scene and taken to Moree Police Station.

He has since been charged with reckless wounding, break and enter to commit a serious indictable offence, wearing a disguise with intent, and breaching bail.

The teen was refused bail and is due to appear in a children’s court on Sunday.

Police investigations are ongoing.
