The 41-year-old driver also brought down power lines.

An alleged drunk driver who also tested positive for drugs has crashed his car through a fence, bringing down power lines before coming to a stop near train tracks in NSW’s Blue Mountains region.

Police were called to the intersection of Railway Pde and Blackheath St in Leura just before 10pm on Sunday.

A sedan was found wedged two metres from a rail line, with police saying 60 metres of cabling had been “dislodged”.

The 41-year-old male driver was not injured.

He underwent a roadside breath test and a drug test which both returned a positive result.

During a search of the car, police allegedly found a substance believed to be cocaine as well as cannabis and prescription medication.

The man was arrested and taken to a police station where he underwent further breath and drug tests.

The breath test returned an alleged reading of 0.162, while the drug test was again positive.

The man was charged with high-range PCA, possess a prohibited drug and custody of a knife in a public place.

His licence was also suspended.

“Further charges are dependent on the outcome of the drug test,” NSW Police said.

He was granted conditional bail to appear in Katoomba Local Court in July.
