A man and a woman from Adelaide’s south have been charged with assaulting a month-old child.
Police allege on May 3, the four-week-old baby was taken to a hospital with a swollen leg.
A medical examination identified a number of serious injuries which included bone fractures.
After an investigation into the baby’s injuries by detectives, police have arrested a 34-year-old woman and 33-year-old man from Reynella East.
They have been charged with criminal neglect and recklessly causing serious harm.
They were granted bail to appear at the Christies Beach Magistrates Court on September 30.
The youngest murderer involved in one of Australia’s most of horrific serial killings has been allowed out on parole and into the custody of a pre-release centre.
James Spyridon Vlassakis has been behind bars since 2001 for the “body in the barrels” murders, which were committed around Adelaide between August 1992 and May 1999.
The now 45-year-old has spent 26 years behind bars.
Vlassakis will not be free to roam in the community, and will be remanded into the custody of the Adelaide Pre-Release Centre, where he will adhere to strict conditions.
Two men have been critically injured in a serious workplace accident in Sydney’s northwest.
The accident happened at a workplace on Pennant Hills Rd, near Shirley St, in Carlingford.
It is believed the men were injured by concrete pumping equipment.
A man aged in his 40s was taken to Westmead Hospital and the other man in his 30s was taken to Royal North Shore Hospital.
“A crime scene has been established and investigations have commenced into the circumstances surrounding the incident,” NSW Police said.
The incident has been referred to SafeWork NSW.
There was another incident at the same worksite in June when roads were closed due to an unstable crane.
One or two of the crane’s two anchor pins had failed, causing it to tilt at the base.
At least 350 workers and nearby residents were evacuated as a precaution.
No one was injured.
Melbourne have sacked premiership coach Simon Goodwin.
The 48-year-old reportedly learned of the decision on Monday night.
Goodwin’s future has been uncertain since starting the season with five straight defeats, before another recent five-match losing streak ended their finals hopes.

Police divers will join the search for a missing woman who was swept away in floodwaters over the weekend.
The 26-year-old woman was a passenger in a Mini Countryman that became stuck in floodwaters at Black Creek on Old North Rd in Rothbury — a rural area in NSW’s Hunter region — on Saturday night.
She and the 27-year-old female driver managed to escape the car, but the younger woman was swept away.
Police, SES, Marine Area Command and other agencies have been searching for the woman since Saturday but she has not been found.
The search will resume on Tuesday morning with the assistance of the Police Diving Unit.
Both women were Chinese nationals on working visas living in Sydney.
They were on a weekend getaway to the Cessnock area, NSW Police Superintendent Steve Laksa said on Sunday.
After becoming concerned about rising water levels, they drove through a causeway to collect their luggage from their accommodation to begin making their way back to Sydney.
But by the time they returned to the causeway, the water had risen significantly and both had to flee the vehicle the driver’s side.
The missing woman is an engineer who has lived in Australia for three years.
Police are liaising with the Chinese consulate.
Ferries and flights have been cancelled in Sydney as a layer of thick fog blanketed the city on Tuesday morning.
Airservices Australia has put a Ground Delay Program in place at Sydney Airport due to the fog, with both Qantas and Virgin Australia flights impacted.
Passengers flying with both airlines will be reaccommodated on other flights later on Tuesday.
Other travellers have been urged to monitor their flight information throughout the morning.
All ferry services were cancelled however all are now up and running.
“Passengers should continue to allow extra travel time as services return to normal,” Transport NSW said.
“Passengers should also listen to announcements and check information displays for service updates.”
Motorists have also been warned to drive safely as visibility may be poor.
A teenage girl has been fatally stabbed west of Newcastle, NSW.
The 14-year-old was found with a stab wound to her torso on Euston Close, Edgeworth, about 10.20pm on Monday.
She was treated by paramedics before being taken to the John Hunter Hospital in a critical condition.
The teenager later died from her injuries.
A 13-year-old girl who was known to the victim was arrested at the scene.
She is assiting police with their investigation into the stabbing.
During a search of the home police seized a kitchen knife which will be forensically examined.
“Strike Force Aggnes has been established and an investigation is underway with the assistance of the State Crime Command’s Homicide Squad,” NSW Police said.
