Anyone who purchased the item has been advised to return it for a replacement or full refund.

A children’s clothing item from a popular outdoor and adventure retail store has been recalled over fears it could be a fire hazard.

Kathmandu’s Kids Hooded Towel has been recalled by the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission for not having the required fire safety hazard label.

The ACCC said the product “does not comply with the labelling requirements of the mandatory safety standard for nightwear for children”.

“Due to the loose-fitting nature of the towel, this could pose a fire risk to the wearer if exposed to a heat or flame source,” it said.

The hooded towel was sold by Kathmandu in stores and online nationally between October 1 and October 24, 2022.

Consumers who have purchased the product have been advised to stop using it and return it to Kathmandu for a replacement or refund.
