Shoppers are going wild over a $20 pair of clogs from Kmart that fans claim to be a “dupe” of Birkenstock’s $220 version.

An Australian blogger, otherwise known as “Kmart Insider” on social media, discovered what she believes to be an affordable alternative to Birkenstock’s classic clogs dubbed “Boston”.

“A viral IT-shoe has landed at Kmart,” she said on Instagram.

“Slide your feet into a $20 dupe of the Birkenstock Boston.”

Both designs of the shoes appear identical - but despite the huge price difference, many customers pointed out the key features that the cheaper variety doesn’t have.

Birkenstock is widely known for offering the most comfortable footwear due to its anatomically shaped footbed.

The Boston range is made from different materials - including real leather and suede - but Kmart’s ‘round toe clogs’ on the other hand are made from synthetic.

‘Wow what a dupe’

Her post was met with dozens of responses, with many saying they were amazed to see how similar both brands looked.

“Wow what a good dupe,” one said.

Another suggested: “I need these.”

One shared: “Yes, Kmart to the rescue.”

While another added: “I’ll buy this one for sure for summer. And yes I do own two pairs of Birkenstocks. I wear them out but the Kmart ones I wear in the house. Love ‘em.”

Some suggested the budget version was a perfect option for those who can’t afford to fork out hundreds of dollars.

However, not everyone was convinced.

‘Nothing beats Birks’

“I’m sorry, I love Kmart but nothing beats the real authentic Birkenstock! I have arthritis in my feet and they are the best,” one shopper said.

Another claimed: “I love a bargain as much as the next person. But I wouldn’t bother with these. Birkies have a real leather so your feet don’t get sweaty or stinky.”

One added while laughing: “Are we really comparing these to Birkenstocks? Seriously now if you’ve ever worn Birks you’d know better.”
