Three of Allen’s iconic lollies Red Ripperz, Sherbies and Milkos have quietly been discontinued - leaving fans devastated.

Shoppers have been struggling to find the popular range on supermarket shelves since late 2022 - with many expressing their confusion on social media after they were unable to locate the lollies.

Parent company for Allen’s, Nestlé, confirmed it has ceased production of the three sweets temporarily.

“We have temporarily paused our individual bags of Allen’s Red Ripperz Sticks, Sherbies, and Milkos as we move production to our new location in Broadford,” Nestlé head of marketing confectionary, Melanie Chen, told 7Life.

“We are working hard to bring these back to shelves in their own bags as soon as possible.”

The surprising news comes after shoppers began noticing their childhood favourites were missing in stores.

“Have Red Ripperz been discontinued? I’ve been looking for some Red Ripperz and everywhere is out of stock. It’s not even showing up on the Allen’s website. Have I missed some news or what’s the go?” one said.

Another shared: “Why is everywhere sold out of Red Ripperz? When will there be new stock in Australia? All major supermarkets are sold out.”

One revealed: “Why have Sherbies been out of stock for a while?”

‘Worst day of my life’

Another asked: “Please when are Red Ripperz going to be back in stock? I really want some I’m so desperate.”

One confessed: “This the worst day of my life. For real, please bring them back here.”

Another added: “NEWSFLASH! Everything that was good when we were kids has been discontinued because modern life is rubbish.”

While one asked: “What’s happening with Sherbies? Can’t get them anywhere.”

The shock news comes just months after Nestlé shocked fans in June that Allen’s Fantales were being discontinued after 93 years. Credit: Supplied

However, the iconic lollies are not gone forever - as shoppers can still get their hands on them at major supermarket stores.

“The good news is you can still find Red Ripperz, Sherbies, and Milko chews in bags of Allen’s Chew Mix,” Chen tells 7Life.

“We’ll be sure to keep you updated on our Facebook page when individual bags make a return, in the meantime let’s show Allen’s Chew Mix some love.”

‘Sad Fantales news’

Back in June, Nestlé shocked fans with a major announcement confirming that Allen’s Fantales were being discontinued after 93 years due to “declining sales and the need for significant upgrades”.

“We know our decision to stop making Fantales will be sad news for many people,” Nestlé Oceania Confectionery general manager Andrew Lawrey said at the time.

“Many of us grew up with Fantales and have fond memories of them. Despite the sense of nostalgia Fantales evoke, unfortunately people simply aren’t buying them as often as they used to.”

In mid-2015, Allen’s Spearmint Leaves and Green Frogs lollies were removed from shelves permanently after the sweets failed to make the necessary sales.
