If you’re looking to save on your favourite beauty items, you’re probably thinking of making a trip to Chemist Warehouse.
However, if you’re wanting to save even more then it’s time to start purchasing from brands that offer refillable options.
Chemist Warehouse employee Jess, who frequently shares the best buys and deals from Chemist Warehouse on TikTok, has shared in a now-viral video her most cost-effective tip for shoppers in a cost-of-living crisis.

Jess said that “there are many cost-effective options at Chemist Warehouse, and they don’t have to be on sale for you to be saving money”.
Jess said her biggest secret is refills and buying brands that stock refills.
She then shared all of the brands that offer refillable options at Chemist Warehouse.
First on her list was Dove body wash, which costs $12.99 per litre bottle, but for a 1.25 litre refill it is also $12.99 — meaning you can save $3.25.
Next was the popular Neutrogena Water Gel Moisturiser, which costs $29.99 for a 50-gram tub, but only $23.99 for a 50-gram refill, so you end up saving $6.
A personal favourite of mine, the La Roche Posay Effaclar wash, costs $33.99 for a 400mL bottle but $31.99 for a 400mL refill, saving you $2.
The Fresh Water Farm Hand Wash costs $14.99 for a 500mL bottle but $14.99 for a refillable option, which means you’re essentially buying one and getting one free.
The Schwarzkopf Sustainable Hydrate Shampoo costs $18.99 for a 400mL bottle and $13.99 for a 400mL refill, so you end up saving $5.
White Glo’s Eco Mouth Wash costs $6.99 for a 500mL bottle and $9.99 for a litre refill which saves $4.
Hand and body wash from Thank You costs $9.49 for a 500mL bottle and $14.99 for a litre refill, saving you $5.50.
Chemist Warehouse also stocks Palmolive’s 250mL hand wash for $2.49 and a litre refill for $6.49, saving you $3.50.
If you prefer Dettol handwash, Chemist Warehouse sells a 250mL bottle for $2.49, or a 950mL refill for $7.99, saving you $2.
Pigeon’s liquid cleanser is currently priced at $24.99 for a 700mL bottle and $20.49 for a 650mL refill, saving you $4.50.
French skincare brand, Avène’s Vitamin A Activ Cg Radiance Intensive Cream, is only available online but a 50mL tub will cost you $61.99, whereas a refill will only set you back $53.99 and save you $8.
Jess’s video received more than 7,000 views and people in the comments are praising her hack.
