British traveller reveals the countries she would never visit - and one destination will shock you

‘It’s a shame, because I really like the look of all the main cities.’

Planning a holiday? After reading this, you may not want to.

One British traveller has revealed the countries she would never visit — and one will shock you.

First on Eva Bacchoo’s list is the picturesque Cape Verde, an archipelago country off West Africa comprised of 10 volcanic islands.

Bacchoo said she was put off visiting the country for life after hearing so many stories of “people coming home with long term bowel issues” related to “contamination of food”.

“I’ve heard people say they saw flies laying eggs in their food at the buffet (and that) even the salads make you sick because they wash the lettuce in contaminated water,” she said in a now-viral video.

Next on her ‘avoidance’ list was Egypt.

She said even though it looked “gorgeous”, different countries had different food regulations, and it would “stress her out not knowing how long the food had been left out”.

“I have seen a few videos of people who have gone outside the tourist spots and tap water is frequently disguised as bottled water, which is a big no from me,” she said.

Also a no-go for the traveller was the popular holiday destination, Bali.

Bacchoo said she had emetophobia, the fear of vomiting — so the idea of catching Bali belly scared her too much.

Her family invited her to the Indonesian island but she said no, and she said she was glad she declined because they all caught the dreaded traveller’s diarrhoea.

“There are so many beautiful places in the world, it’s not worth travelling halfway across the world to be on an IV drip,” Bacchoo said.

She added: “My sister also got sick from surfing, due to all the rubbish in the ocean.”

The most surprising country on her would-not-travel list? Australia.

Bacchoo said she was immensely fearful of snakes and terrified of frogs, Komodo dragons and basically all reptiles.

So although she was interested in going Down Under, she was too afraid of snakes and spiders to ever get on a flight.

“It’s a shame, because I really like the look of all the main cities in Australia,” she said.

“A lot of people I know went to Australia and said they didn’t see any snakes but it’s also such a long flight.

“I may be convinced if I was in a really urban area.”

Bacchoo’s video attracted more than two million views, and people sharing their own horror travel experiences.

“I visited Cairo in Egypt last year, never again,” said one.

“Got sick in Fiji, ate at the hotels, big mistake,” added another.

“Just got home from Cape Verde and have food poisoning,” said a third.
