Prince Harry has made a surprising admission just days after a long-anticipated face-to-face meeting with his father, King Charles, revealing that he is now reconsidering his stance on bringing his children back to the UK.
While speaking to The Guardian during a recent trip to Ukraine, the Duke of Sussex said he’d like to bring six-year-old Archie and four-year-old Lilibet, whom he shares with his wife Meghan Markle, to visit his homeland.
“Yes, I would. This week has definitely brought that closer,” Harry told the outlet, despite ongoing issues over security arrangements.

This marks a shift from his comments in May, when he told BBC News that he “couldn’t see a world in which I would be bringing my wife and children back to the UK at this point,” after losing his legal appeal over the British Government’s decision to strip him of automatic police protection.
“They’re going to miss, well, everything,” he said at the time.
“I miss the UK, I miss parts of the UK, of course I do,” he added. “I think that it’s really quite sad that I won’t be able to show my children my homeland.”
Now, that may be changing.
The Duke of Sussex had returned to the UK for a week of events, including the WellChild Awards and other engagements tied to causes he supports.
After months of speculation and years of tension, Harry’s trip also delivered the royal moment many were waiting for: a face-to-face meeting between father and son.
It marked the first time in 19 months Harry had seen his father.
Speaking afterwards, Harry told the outlet that the trip left him feeling optimistic.
“Yes, I have enjoyed the week,” he said.
“I have always loved the UK and I always will love the UK. It’s been good to reconnect with the causes I am passionate about. I have been able to spend some time with people that I have known for so long. It is hard to do it from far away.”
The Duke was photographed arriving at Clarence House last Wednesday evening in a Range Rover, dressed in a dark suit, just hours after King Charles returned from Balmoral.
Just 55 minutes later, Prince Harry emerged, having reportedly shared a private tea with the King.
The meeting was jammed into a packed schedule for King Charles.
At 4.35pm, the King attended a Privy Council meeting for 30 minutes, followed by an investiture with Manfred Goldberg, a 95-year-old Holocaust survivor.
Harry was seen arriving at 5.21pm.
By 6.10pm, the King had begun a meeting with an Australian dignitary inside Clarence House, with the Duke spotted leaving in the back of a Range Rover at 6.14pm.
Their last encounter was a brief meeting after the King revealed his cancer diagnosis in early 2024, followed by what’s been described as only “minimal contact” since — a single birthday phone call.
Harry has now returned to California, where he is celebrating his 41st birthday.
