There are can openers and there are can openers, and this nifty tool is definitely in that second category.

If you think that cracking open a ring pull on your favourite beer is the answer, then you obviously haven’t tried the Draft Top Topless Can Opener!

This clever gadget grabs and removes the entire lid from the can, leaving the drinker with a smooth edge and a glass-like drinking experience. You could even pop in some ice.

Available on Amazon for under $25, the bar tool works on 12 to 16 oz aluminum cans, so not only can you drink your beer in style but you can take the lid off a soda for the kids or energy drinks, canned wine and cocktails.

It’s compact and portable, easily fitting in the side of the eski to take to parties, camping or to open your friends and family’s beverages wherever you are.

“Beer cans are now with my Jeep on the list of things that are better topless!” said one reviewer.

“This removes the top leaving the original crimped rim without sharp edges. The beers taste better, and go down even easier.”

The topless can opener works a bit like a traditional tin opener and after aligning the tool on the can and twisting, metal jaws cut the lid and remove it entirely.

“The boys thought is was so fun,” said one five star reviewer.

“My husband and all his buds were over and were so happy to drink and perfect this tool and play with it! They all were all happy to get a turn and test it out! And made their whole night!”

Where the hell has this opener been all my life?” said another.

“We have a few around the house for hosting family and friends as it has cut out buying cups. The opener is damn sturdy and leaves a safe clean edge on the can for drinking. I will be buying more as stocking stuffers this year.”

Other users report that it works just as well for lefties and has the benefit of making life easier when rinsing cans for recycling.

“It’s easy to use and does genuinely leave a non-sharp edge. I’m left-handed and have found it equally easy to use with either hand, going either clockwise or counter-clockwise with the same results,” said one review.
