Melbourne Airport’s Chief of Aviation Jim Parashos highlighted that the increased competition between airlines has been crucial in driving down fares.
“Our international market has pivoted from recovery to growth and that’s a great outcome for passengers,” Jim explained.
“The added competition continues to put downward pressure on fares, making international travel more accessible to the average family.”
The Chief of Aviation also mentioned that Melbourne Airport is investing in key infrastructure upgrades, including the expansion of the international terminal and the addition of a third runway, which will help accommodate the growing demand for international travel.
“These improvements will help unlock capacity during peak times and create more opportunities for airlines to expand their services,” Jim says.
