Ready or not, the Christmas countdown is officially on.

That means it’s time to start thinking — or panicking — about what goodies will be wrapped up under the tree.

But don’t worry, the heavy lifting has already been done. We’ve got the inside scoop from the leading toy experts: the kids themselves.

The toy-testing dream team

Nine world-class toy testers from the Starlight Children’s Foundation have been chosen as this year’s Amazon Playmakers.

Their mission? To play, try, test, and review the coolest toys so you know exactly what to get. Tough gig, right?

Guess who’s still ruling the toy world? Yep, Barbie! The classic doll is still a superstar, with the Playmakers swooning over the deluxe Barbie campervan priced at $99.

Barbie’s very own DreamHouse was also a fan fave, and it’s easy to see why. Perched at the pricer end of the top toy list, the playset retails at $249.

Of course, Bluey fever is still going strong. The $49 VTech Scooter Time Bluey — Motion Sensor Interactive Figurine will see her scooting around your living room, quite literally. Her motion senses are able to detect obstacles as she speeds around.

Sporting toys go for gold

Still riding the wave of Olympic glory, the kids are all about sporting toys this year. From cricket to footy and swimming gear, these little athletes-in-training are grabbing anything that gets them moving.

Among the top scorers: the Powerplay 2020 Deluxe Size 3 Cricket Set, a trusty Sherrin AFL Youth Football, and Speedo Kid’s Biofuse Goggles for any future Ariarne Titmuses out there.

Budget-friendly fun

And because Santa’s always looking to save, Amazon’s Top 100 Toy List includes plenty of toys under $25.

“We know value is super top of mind so we’ve got a whole range of toys under $25,” Amazon’s Duncan Fredericks said.

“They’re not going to hurt the hit pocket and they’re toys kids actually want”

“They’re easy on the wallet and big on fun.”

Lego options under $25 were popular choices, with the intergenerational Rubik’s Cube continuing its reign as a top-rated toy.

Black Friday Bargains

While Christmas is close, Black Friday is closer — which is good news for shoppers.

The Black Friday shopping extravaganza kicks off on November 29 and it’s expected to be deals galore, especially for toys.

Get online early. Some of these toys will be on sale during our Black Friday sale event,” Fredericks added.

So until then, grab your list, check it twice, and get ready to save.

Santa will thank you later.
