No one loves their sport more than Australians in January and this 2025 season is shaping up to be one of the best we’ve had in a long time.

But even if you’re shying away from the cricket and upcoming Australian Open I can’t speak highly enough of watching just about anything on a certain Samsung TV that launched toward the latter end of 2024.

Samsung’s OLED S95D 4K Smart AI TV is intelligent but not in a difficult-to-navigate way, so you’ll be set up with the 55”, 65” or 77”-inch option in mere moments.

And the clincher? Customers can get up to $1600 off the regular price just by purchasing it now.

As the name suggests, the TVs OLED display technology delivers exceptional picture quality with deep blacks, vibrant colours and incredible contrast, so you can easily differentiate between the athlete and the ball they’re hitting when the tennis starts in Melbourne.

The S95D also excels in motion handling with a refresh rate of up to 144Hz, making it ideal for fast-paced action movies and gaming.

This high refresh rate minimises motion blur and provides a smoother, more immersive viewing experience for anyone sitting on the couch in front of it.

The sound is incredible in its own right but adding the Q-Series Soundbar HW-Q990D to it proved to be a game-changer, and we’ll really have to be careful how loud we have it so as not to disturb the neighbours.

Smart features are also a major highlight, with the TV providing seamless access to a wide range of streaming services and apps, including both Optus Sport and Kayo.

The intuitive interface makes it easy to navigate and control the TV, while built-in voice assistants like Bixby and Alexa offer convenient hands-free control too.

One of the coolest additions to the TV was its solar-powered remote control, which can just be placed under a regular light in your house or near a window to recharge every so often.

Forget having to worry about batteries ever again.

And I’m certainly not the only person enjoying their new TV.

“I bought the 55” S95D OLED TV in early November 2024 and have been extremely pleased with the purchase,” one man wrote on Samsung’s website.

“As mentioned in many reviews I read, the anti-glare screen is superb and lives up to everything mentioned about it, a huge advancement on the previous TV viewing.

“I would also give the remote a five-star rating. My only criticism is that I would prefer the operating instructions to be ‘hard copy’ rather than only accessible online. In this regard, I am old school.”

“This is the best TV I’ve had in my life — great image and sound!” Said another.

A third added: “Not cheap but definitely worth the price. The display on this TV is just stunning, with vibrant colours and deep blacks that make every scene come to life.

“It even offers an anti-glare coating, allowing you to watch TV in bright rooms without seeing your own reflection. The smart features are intuitive and responsive, and the remote is easy to use and super sleek, unlike its competitors.”

While it would be easy to think all smart TVs are the same, this one truly does stand out from the pack.
