I was following ex Miss Universe Australia Francesca Hung’s social media account when she revealed to countless fans that she would be doing her own wedding makeup in December last year.

The positively radiant model and presenter tied the knot on the first day of summer to husband Nick Lowry on Sydney’s Northern Beaches, and despite having all of Australia’s best makeup artists at her fingertips, the statuesque 29-year-old decided to do the job herself.

The result? An effortlessly chic winged liner with various shades of bronze and a pink cheek to boot. Bridal perfection.

Fans have been eagerly asking Francesca what products she ended up choosing for her big day, so she created a step-by-step tutorial on how she crafted it.

“To start I used my Kosas concealer and dabbed a little bit on each lid and blended it in,” she said, using a beauty blender to buff in the colour.

This technique gives her dewy eyelids a bit of grip to lay down the next colours so they don’t “shift” later in the day.

Taking her $94 Makeup by Mario Master Mattes Eyeshadow Palette, which you can pick up at Sephora, Francesca used shades Matte 3 and Matte 4 allover her eyelids. This created a subtle taupe-coloured effect.

To build the colour up Francesca then took Fenty Beauty’s Sun Stalk’r Instant Warmth Bronzer ($52) in the shade Island Ting.

“For me it’s just the most beautiful brown, bronzed colour,” she said. “So I put that around the socket and allover.”

Taking Matte 6 on a small fluffy brush from the Makeup by Mario palette again, Francesca brushed it over the lash line to increase depth.

With a tapered eyeliner brush she picked up the darkest shade of brown in that palette and created the winged line she wanted for her liner to sit on.

With the $37 Make Up For Ever Aqua Resist waterproof eyeliner pencil in hand, in what looks to be the shade “Ebony”, Francesca then coloured in her waterline.

With liquid eyeliner Francesca then traced over the eyeshadow “liner” she had created in pencil moments before.

“It’s much easier than trying to do it freehand,” she said.

After curling her eyelashes, Francesca reached for the Heroine Make waterproof mascara, which is only $22 on Amazon, which completely transformed the eye area.

My favourite part was the introduction of the Ardell Double Individual Lashes in Medium, which are $12.99 at Priceline, which she applied carefully with tweezers.

The Ardell DuraLash Flare Lashes Starter Kit, which is $13.99, are the perfect kit to trial before a wedding because there are a range of sizes and styles to choose from in the one set.

“They make the most amount of difference on the eye so you can’t skip them,” she said.

While she’s planning on uploading a separate tutorial on how she did her base makeup, she did give away her lipstick secrets.

On her wedding day Francesca opted to line her lips in Wherever Walnut, a signature shade from Make Up For Ever, before following with Mac’s Honey Love lipstick and a Kosas Lip Oil.

I’ve been taking notes for my own wedding next year and can’t wait to craft a unique look just like Francesca did.
