The world has changed a lot since that fateful February in 2020 when Australians first heard about a mysterious illness sweeping across the world.

But while our lives have changed immeasurably since Covid-19, namely allowing more people than ever before to work remotely or on-the-go, the laptops that serve us day-to-day mostly haven’t.

My usual work laptop is your standard fare.

It’s quite clunky in size, it has just one screen and a raised keyboard that needs to be plugged into monitors on my desk at home to get the most out of it.

That’s where ASUS’ game-changing Zenbook Duo enters the fray in a field all its own, complete with the world’s first OLED dual-screen.

The touchscreen twin-screen laptop will officially launch on February 14 and it’s no coincidence it’s falling on the day dedicated to love.

There is so much to love about this laptop, which customers can get their hands on both online and at all leading retailers for $3,999.

What are the best features of the Zenbook Duo?

Upon first inspection, it’s immediately obvious how slimline the device is.

Weighing in at just 1.65 kilograms, it’s the type of laptop you can carry from home to work and back again in your handbag.

While you might imagine the two screens and the attached keyboard would take up a lot of space, even when it’s set up, because the top screen hovers above the bottom one there is no bigger surface area than a typical laptop.

I can easily have my emails open on one screen and whatever I’m actively working on on the other so I can be across everything at once.

When it’s time for a meeting I just have to detach the keyboard and lay the laptop flat on the table so a slideshow can be visible to everyone around me. It’s fuss-free and perfect for those of us that navigate both office and home office life.

The kickstand behind the laptop allows me to adjust the angle I’m looking at the screens at so I can tailor it to any height or desk I’m working with.

Is the ASUS Zenbook Duo worth the price?

In a cost of living crisis it’s important to weigh up big purchases like a laptop to determine whether the pricetag is worth it.

In this case I can comfortably say you’re getting ample bang for your buck.

It’s almost completely customisable, able to be used in multiple modes, including the regular laptop mode, dual screen, desktop and sharing mode which can all be controlled through the onboard ASUS ScreenXpert software.

The laptop is equipped with a lay-flat 180 degree display hinge, making it seamless for users to share content in business meetings and presentations.

Others will love the clever AI features that are in-built in the laptop like AI Noise Cancellation and AISense.

Outside of the workplace, who doesn’t want a laptop with ample screen real estate to watch your favourite shows on? Particularly if you can keen an eye on your emails in the process.

The ASUS stands out from the crowd in my opinion with the inclusion of its AI Noise Cancellation, making it easier than every before to be heard and speak clearly in any room.

The clever microphone can suppress ambient noise and normalise all voices, while the AISense camera not only incorporates an FHD IR camera, giving users a swift face login solution, but an ambient light sensor (ALS).

Who is this device perfect for?

It’s easy to how this laptop can be adapted in all workplaces and all settings outside of your regular job, whether you’re a busy traveller or just looking for a high-tech machine to play games or watch movies on.

Its lightweight nature makes it the perfect carry-on size for your next trip and prevents you from having to have a dual-screen set up in your home office (or let’s face it, dining room table for some of us).

The touchscreen is a nod to the creatives who want to play, draw and write without boundaries and the laptop can be customised to your perfect size, height and angle.

It can be used to edit photos, write emails, upload content to social media, conduct meetings and organise your day, all practically in the palm of your hand.

And for $3,999, given the number of added features, it’s surprisingly affordable.

The Zenbook Duo will be available from all leading tech retailers from 14 February.
