Australia is experiencing full-blown Taylor Swift mania — with a happy knock-on effect for the economy.

With the pop megastar due to play four sold-out shows in Sydney this weekend, fans are eagerly preparing their outfits, crafting friendship bracelets and plotting their route to and from Olympic Park.

Local skincare brand Hey Bud Skincare is among businesses that have seen a huge boost in sales — and followers on social media — since it started engaging with “Swifties”during the Melbourne leg of the Eras Tour.

The brand created bespoke friendship bracelets and went viral online when it handed them out alongside its best-selling Blemish-Buds and new lip balms.

Some of the videos that showcased the bracelets, and members of the team meeting up with fans, have more than two millions views.

To celebrate with more than just the fans who were at the Melbourne event this weekend, Hey Bud has created a special code to celebrate Taylor being in the country.

Customers can get 20 per cent off their first order on the Hey Bud website using the code SWIFT_20 on orders over $100 from February 20 to March 31.

“We have a few Swifties in the office who were excited about Taylor coming and wanted to celebrate with the rest of the fans but we never thought we would reach this many people,” Co-founder of Hey Bud, Ollie Watts, told Best Picks.

“People were coming up to us saying ‘I saw you on TikTok’, with people rushing to the location at the MCG where we were going to hand everything out when it was posted on Instagram.”

Hey Bud’s Social Media Coordinator added: “We wish we could say thank you to Taylor in person for connecting us to so many new people! Everyone was so lovely, her fans really are the greatest”.

The childhood friends behind Hey Bud Skincare, Alex Roslaniec and Fedele D’Amico, alongside co-founder Ollie Watts, said they launched the brand because they wanted to create something that other brands hadn’t made.

“Hey Bud was originally born out of a need for a skincare brand that can not only clear acne, but also support long-term skin health and repair,” Fedele said previously.

The clean and sustainable line of products uses the power of hemp to foster clearer skin.
