There’s something to be said about the feeling you get when you crack into a new piece of tech.

Those first few words that come to mind often define your experience for the life of the product.

When I first unboxed the Echelon keyboard I said out loud “whoa, that’s thin!”

Immediately my sceptical mind started racing about the compromises that must’ve been made to get such a slim form factor but after using it for over four months I can honestly say I am impressed.

Connectivity

The Echelon wireless keyboard connects wirelessly via Bluetooth or using the supplied 2.4GHz receiver.

You can also use a USB-C cable connection if wireless isn’t your thing, the included USB-C feels very premium with its braided sheath and charges the keyboard to full capacity in no time.

Battery life

Spoiler alert – you will barely ever need to charge this keyboard.

The Alogic website claims “battery lasts weeks” this isn’t entirely true.

I’ve been using the Echelon for over four months and have never needed to charge it.

Normally product sites add a little icing on the top to make their products more attractive but Alogic seems to have taken the conservative approach giving the keyboard just two to three weeks of battery life.

The trade-off

Perhaps the only downside that I have had while using the Echelon is the lack of feet to lift the keyboard up on an angle.

For the most part you can forget it’s a thing but every now and then I still find myself wanting to lift the keyboard a little bit.

Conclusion

If you’re looking for a slim wireless keyboard that you will never need to charge than it’s hard to go past the Alogic Echelon.

At under $100 with an included wireless mouse I can definitely recommend it as a solid option for the modern office.
